Stunning
Focke Wulf
Hello,
this is a stunning picture indeed! My Dad used to fly the Focke-Wulf in WW2. Always the "brown 13" because nobody else wanted the plane for obvious reasons. Can anyone tell me where this pic was taken and who owns the plane? As far a I know only 4 or 5 FW-190 were retrieved after the war. Thank you. Stefan

Stefan, there's a lot more than you think. From Wikipedia:
Some 28 original FW 190s are in museums or in the hands of private collectors around the world.
In 1997, a German company, Flug Werk GmbH, began manufacturing new FW 190 models as reproductions. By 2012 almost 20 had been produced, most flyable, a few as static display models, with airworthy examples usually powered by Chinese-manufactured Shvetsov ASh-82 twin-row, 14-cylinder radial powerplants,[45] which have a displacement of 41.2 litres, close to the BMW 801's 41.8 litres, with the same engine cylinder arrangement and number of cylinders.
For a list of surviving FW-190s, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_surviving_Focke-Wulf_Fw_190s

Thank you for this info Colin; you seem to know a lot about this. I know about the reproductions. My Dad used to tell me that many 109's had "survived", but almost no 190. He loved the 190 - said it was a magic plane. I see that the one retrieved and made airworthy again was from JG54. My Dad flew with JG52 and JG26. I will look into the links you provided. Thank you very much for this valuable information :-)
