There was also a much larger swept wing seaplane bomber being tested around the same time as the Sea Dart. Not quite supersonic but very close to it. I think it was called the Sea Master.

not mentioned is the impractical nature of all seaplanes -- difficulty in take off and landings in rough seas. Even the successful PBY-5a pilots manual discouraged such attempts and notes when absolutely necessary, the pilot 'could' use a full stall to flop onto the water (ouch).
