The A-24 was the Army's version of the famous SBD Dauntless built for the Navy and Marine Corps. The Army kept theirs stateside and were used for training and target towing. The navy version served with distinction in the South Pacific.

Got about 20 hrs in the little Douglass Bomber "N93RW" at Lone Star Flight Museum. Never flew it in level flight with the "dive brakes"up, wonder how much power it takes to maintain that level flight???
Think I'd start with MTO, those barn doors are big. And the holes actually compound the drag (Heineman was a genius) with turbulence.
