Boeing C-135FR Stratotanker (62-4133) - At Barksdale Air Force Base. Two engines were painted black with the one wing and the other side was painted in the regular colors. I asked and one of the crew said it was for fighter jets to test their radar lock on.

That BS!! This A/C was painted on the wings and engine cowlings because it was used in the 60's and 70's to film the reentry of the capsules coming back from space. They painted them to kill the refection from the sun on the camera which was placed in the over the wing emergency exit door window. Note the matte finish of the paint. "fighter jets to test their radar lock on..........."
