The B-47 is on display at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum here in Savannah, Ga. It's located just off the Hwy 80 exit in Pooler and can be seen clearly from I-95. She just recently got a repaint. However, I don't ever recall seeing one that was half silver and half white.

Wow...that is an awesome video....5 knots of extra airspeed costs you 1000' of runway....wtf?.....the precision required to pilot this plane is off the charts!

I would have liked to hear the audio but the sound file must be only available in outer space. Dangit

The only thing missing is Jimmy Stewart on an emergency landing with bad weather into Tokyo.

Many years ago I witnessed a B-47 departing Travis AFB. The aircraft reached an altitude of approximately 50 ft. and crashed. Being a pilot, I never considered the rear trim as being the possible cause. Such a beautiful aircraft. As I travel to Florida on Rt. 95 through Georgia, a B-47 is on display near the highway.

I would have loved being able to hear the audio of this film. Unfortunately, I cannot for some reason. This film might require a specail audio program which is onlyh available on Mars.

Too bad AVHUB uploaded this film to YouTube using incorrect wide-screen aspect ratio -- it's stretched horizontally, but still watchable.

talk about hands-on: Notice the manual throttle jockeying to maintain safe temps on engine start-up; the only FADEC here was in your brain and hand!
This training video, in my opinion, demonstrates one reason why military jocks of the '50's made for some of the best civilian pilots. Just my o.

That is interesting and to see what led up to the B52. The fighter style, canopy covered cockpit is classic yet strikes me as funny on a modern jet engine bomber but was apropos for the era.

The XB52 prototype had a similar cockpit, later changed for production airplanes to the side by side configuration.
