Sukhoi Su-57 Demo Pilot Pulls Drag Chute While Still Airborne

Just think how short the landing would have been if he had landed into that strong wind.

Maybe it was an attempt to demonstrate short field landing but i'm not sure the risk of bending the gear is worth it. Check out the rudder inputs.... yikes.

Pretty sure this wasn't how the landing was planned. On the space shuttle, at least a couple of wheels were on the ground before the chute deployed. Of course, that wasn't a short runway situation.
