I think that you will find the answer will be YES. Face masks will still be required. As i don't think that the electrostatic solution will stop any coughed or sneezed airborne Covid 19 particles from being breathed in by unsuspecting passengers and crew.

Another safe idea! The question is, will the passengers still have to wear masks even while on the plane on top of this coating?
They will not as long as the passenger is willing to take a couple shots from an inhaler at the gate just before boarding.
in the inhaler. Which could be taken just prior to boarding the aircraft. Thereby killing any airborne Covid 19 particles, which may possibly be breathed in by passengers or crew whilst in flight.
