Airline Merger Settled: Let the Fighting Begin
Article discusses possible airlines lining up to do battle over slot divestitures. The airlines will divest 52 slot pairs from Washington National, along with 17 from New York LaGuardia Airport. The shakedown is over now it is time to watch the payoffs...and listen to the whining when Congress members can't get home on the money losing flights of old.
They will not be able to commence service until they get equipment, and then will only run what they want to and can make a $ on. By that time, slots will be awarded, AA will be gone and the congressional lanes will be gone. Serves them right.
