Amelia Earhart still matters, because her namesake continued on and finished her flight, while giving out scholarships to young women to become pilots, because when she was demoing the Pilatus PC12NG, some male pilots only thought she was just a model there for eye candy when asking her if there was a pilot onboard that could explain the avionics of the aircraft to them.

Damned glad she proved them all wrong.
