Hey Matt! It's the mission of the C295 that reminds you of the C119. Right? I looked and looked at the picture of C295 and saw no resemblance. :) As a kid in the 50's I would spend hours watching the C-119 take-off and land at Ellington Air Force Base in Houston. To this day the C-119 still fascinates me.
I agree Sparkie. I think it also depends on the person. Even a person who has no knowledge or training but has the backbone and confidence to step up and get in the left seat is a good start.
Larry & Highflyer you're so right . It is all about seeing. Turning the lights off, especially at night help the pax eyes (pupils) adjust to low light conditions. In the event of a emergency all eyes are good to go. Seconds count.
Maintenance said they would not change a part before it was due? In my day if a superior said things were going to change...guess what?...things changed.
