1968 LaGuardia International Airport Runway 31 Pre- Security Footage
Submitted
I found this over at LiveLeak today after perusing a few pages. It appears that a couple of kids sneaked into LaGuardia and took some footage of planes taking off and landing. Thank You "distar97" for the awesome footage! "As a 15 year old kid in 1968, I liked visiting LaGuardia airport. One day a friend and I went out to runway 31 to film takeoffs and landings. We made our way out on the concealed side of the old seawall, filming a few planes along the way. After sunset we hopped… (www.liveleak.com) More...Miami Air International 737 Slides Off Runway Into St. John's River at NAS Jacksonville

A Boeing 737 carrying 140 people from Guantanamo Bay has crashed at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident happened at 9:40 PM on Friday when the Miami Air International plane ran off the runway at Naval Air Station Jacksonville in Florida and into the St. Johns River. Airlines are a lot like tech companies. A mere few hold almost all the power. Just as Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, and Microsoft dominate tech, four airlines -- American, United, Delta, and Southwest -- own more than 80% of all the nation's seats. Yet here we are in a pandemic, where management approaches in all businesses are being severely tested. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about how United Airlines is planning to resume its flights from San Francisco to Shanghai -- a route often… (www.zdnet.com) More...WWII Fighter Pilots Makes A Possible Record Breaking Flight On His 100th Birthday

As he crawled out of the cockpit of the 1963 Mooney plane, 100-year-old Harry Moyer flashed a thumbs-up to the assembled crowd, a huge grin lighting up his face. He had plenty of reason to celebrate: Moyer had just potentially broken a world record — on his birthday, no less. Airlines have needs. They tend to revolve around money. Which is harder to make when you fire a lot of people during the pandemic and then find it difficult to hire more people once the pandemic begins to recede. Despite the claims of many, business travel hasn't reached pre-pandemic levels. Leisure travelers, however, are desperate to get on a plane and get out of wherever here is. So how can airlines make more money out of this less-than-ideal situation? A clue emerged last week when… (www.zdnet.com) More...8 year Old Boy Sets Ballon Record

WHITE COUNTY, Ga. - A sky high world record was broken by an 8-year-old Georgia boy. J.T. Head is the youngest person to pilot a hot air balloon solo. "I was a little bit nervous excited. As soon as I got about 50 feet I was saying this is getting to be pretty fun and I was saying that in my mind this isn't as scary as I thought," said J.T. Head. Fifty feet wasn't enought for J.T. He flew hundreds of feet over the Sautee Valley in North Georgia, launching him into the record… (www.fox5atlanta.com) More...Drone Crash at US Open

A science teacher with NYC was flying his drone over the US Open today when it crashed and was arrested for reckless endangerment and flying a drone in a public park outside of prescribed areas. I bet he does not forget this in the future, that is if the judge lets him own drones after this. Luckily it did not hit anyone. (www.npr.org) More...Squawks Voted On
