Helicopter shot down in Syria during civil war
take a look at this unbelievable footage (www.youtube.com) 更多...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
So what makes you think that they were Islamist? It's from the Civil War in Syria... There are Islamists involved in that effort, but there are a ton of other groups too. So what evidence do you have to make that assumption?
what different group than Islamists is always yelling "Allah is great"? o.O
Good question. It seems that most of the 1.5 billion Muslims in the world say that for a variety of reasons, from normal prayer, to expressing approval, to being in a stressful situation. So pretty much the vast majority of groups that say "God is great" are not Islamist.

To put this in perspective, when you hear a Christian saying "God is good", you don't expect them to be an extremist, do you? Sure, they might be, but they probably aren't.

I never heard a Christian yelling "god is great" when he shot down a chopper ;)
We don't need to discuss this thing ... you know exactly what I mean and there is no reason to excuse such radical Islamics!

I know exactly what you mean, but I don't think you know what you are talking about. You certainly don't get what I'm saying, so I'll rephrase it. Sure, they may very well be radical IslamiSTS (saying "Islamics" is kind of like saying "Jewishes"), but it's just as likely that they are a group of more-or-less ordinary Muslims fighting an almost impossible war.
Christians may not tend to use "God is good/great" in the same contexts, and I certainly didn't mean to imply that they did, but there are other expressions that might be confused. Somebody does something incredibly obscene/violent, somebody else yells "Good God!" and then somebody like you sees it and says "They must be a Christian extemist because that's the only way that they'd be praising God after somebody did that." Lo and behold, that's not what was intended at all. But why would that be obvious to somebody who isn't familiar with the English language, let alone Christians?

the difference between "GOOD GOD!" and "ALLAH IS GREAT!" is, that we say "Good God" when we are shocked. They say "Allah is great" when they are happy about dying enemies.
Had you read the link I'd posted, you'd know that that's patently false. There are many situations in which "Allah is great" is used, few of which involve glee at violence.
the situation on the video is clear ... no need to discuss it further.
If the situation is clear, then obviously your Arabic is a lot better than mine, so I'll have to defer to your judgment.
