Probably five to eight years too late. If they started this year they would not get it to service by 2024 at which time the 757's will be ancient. Airbus will have the same six years to develop another aircraft but until then can offer the A-321LR. Those who buy that aircraft are unlikely to retire six year old aircraft.

The 21LR sounds like an awful experience from US to Europe. I suspect (and hope) some Airlines will buy cheap 767s in the interim waiting for Boeing's NMA.... I for one will run, not walk towards airlines that offer two aisle configurations. 767 perhaps the best ever. The only people that ever liked the 757 were pilots and bean counters, it was and is crummy for SLF.

767 has always been my aircraft of choice and have deliberately chosen them to travel to Europe and Africa. It is getting harder to book on well traveled routes. I would not book trans ocean on any single aisle aircraft, Boeing or Airbus.

I prefer the control column. Never really a fan of the side mounted control stick, however some pilots swear by it. The 767-300ER was one of the finest aircraft built.

The Cargo Carriers can't get enough of them. For passengers it had a 3 hour limit. Try to get to the lavs during the duty free sales.

For some reason, Boeing seems to be a day late and a dollar short of things. But, that's a "shoulda-coulda-woulda" thing. Let's see how good they are at playing catchup to Airbus.
